This first of its kind summer garden series combines poetry, music, DJ, dance, visual artists and theatre, presented by the south bay’s vanguard of emerging and established producers – Demone Carter, Sonido Clash, Quynh Nguyen, Tommy Aguilar, Robertino Ragazza, Omar Rodriguez and Chris Esparza. Artist like P.C. Munoz, Lado Oriente Reunion, dancer and musicians from San Jose Nuevo Flamenco, and playwright and director Jefferey Lo, will all be a part of this dynamic series.
Sangria, agua fresca, tapas and Oaxacan ice cream are just a few of the pairing flavors featured. All of these vibrant and cultural offerings will be hosted by the School of Arts and Culture @ The Mexican Heritage Plaza’s beautiful gardens. Join us for this unique series! Universal Grammar & Curate Good bring their weekly sonic playground, The Changing Same to a daytime setting as “TCS Pop-Up” with a take-over of the gardens at the School of Arts & Culture at MHP. TCS elements will reign true as we invite the people to vibe, dance, socialize and drink some tasty libations. The TCS weekly and other curated offerings will always include some of the best deejays from across the globe to live performances of emerging voices directing the future soul, RnB, hip hop, house, funk, future Afro-Latin, and jazz realms. In addition, this experience will include, honoring the author who penned The Changing Same namesake, Amiri Baraka, this TCS experience will include invocations by guest Poets, between DJ sets and performances.

San Jose Nuevo Flamenco in collaboration with Matiz Flamenco presents “Flamenco Feria de Flores,” a night to celebrate the myriad of blooming flowers in our lives interpreted through the passionate and seductive art form of Flamenco. Enjoy this community celebration as we explore a new layer of mysticism of Flamenco’s music song and dance paired with tapas, vino y sangria in the Chinampa Gardens of the Mexican Heritage Plaza.

After 7 years of having what seemed to be the perfect relationship Emily left Andrew. Andrew wasn’t sure why Emily did it. Emily wasn’t quite sure either. All she knew was that it needed to happen. As Andrew frantically works to find a way to fix his relationship, Emily tries to figure out why it was that she left him in the first place. A Kind of a Sad Love Story is the bittersweet story of a stagnant relationship between two twenty somethings who, in order to move on with their lives, must first break each other’s heart.
