Chile, Mole, Pozole
September 16 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm$5.00
The School of Arts and Culture at MHP will host Chile, Mole, Pozole — a celebration of Mexican Independence Day featuring traditional food, unique family recipes, and art that bridges the traditions of Mexico and East San Jose. Chile, Mole, Pozole will be an afternoon of storytelling through food with local families taking center stage and sharing their cherished familial recipes and narratives with the community.
This inaugural installment of Chile, Mole, Pozole is the brainchild of Giant Creative Services, Kooltura Marketing, and the School of Arts and Culture. These partners want to give East San Jose families a showcase for storytelling through the sharing of homemade salsa recipes. Twelve families will prepare unique salsas using locally sourced vegetables. Attendees will sample this delicious food and also hear the stories behind their creation. In addition to these homemade delicacies, there will be three local restaurants on hand serving up the delicious Mexican staple dishes of mole and pozole.
Chile, Mole, Pozole is a new take on the traditional celebration of Mexican Independence Day.
