Chenrezig or in Sanskrit, Avalokiteshvara, is the Bodhisattva of Universal Compassion embodying the great compassion of all the Buddhas. Receiving the initiation means the seed of compassion is planted in the mind of the participants. In turn, this can then be nurtured through ongoing practice until one's quality of compassion is perfected.
Rinpoche's advice for attending the initiation: students need to be Buddhists (i.e. they should have faith in the Three Jewels) and have faith in the teachings and the deity. The initiation cannot be attended as a "blessing". There will not be a commitment for the initiation.
Admission to both the teachings and initiation is free of charge, based on the generosity of donations and sponsors. Click here to learn more!
