SUPPORT LOCAL

During unprecedented times, it is important that we support each other and the communities we live in. We’ve put together a list of local restaurants, food service providers, and small businesses in our neighborhood that are dear to us and open during the shelter in place order. We hope that you will keep this list in mind next time you eat out or shop for essential needs.

En estos tiempos es importante que nos apoyemos mutuamente y a las comunidades en las que vivimos. Hemos preparado una lista de restaurantes locales, proveedores de servicios de alimentos y negocios pequeños en nuestro querido vecindario los cuales siguen abiertos. Connecting Community

Dear Neighbor, 

We know that the coronavirus has impacted our community greatly. We know you may need help now. The School of Arts and Culture at the Mexican Heritage Plaza (La Plaza) is here to offer any help we can. Along with other local agencies, we are working on ways to live into our vision where creativity inspires compassion and vibrant communities. The team at La Plaza -- your Plaza -- is finding ways to support our neighborhood and creative community. As such, we’ve compiled a list of our partners’ resources and services to help you get through these tough times.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT 

Sacred Heart Community Services is providing immediate financial assistance for low-income residents impacted by COVID-19, including rent support. More information can be found by clicking here. 

Silicon Valley Community Foundation leads multiple efforts to support low-income families, nonprofit organizations, independent artists, and small businesses. More information can be found by clicking here.

FOOD RESOURCES 

Alum Rock Union School District (ARUSD) continues to provide free “grab-and-go” breakfast and lunch for children under the age of 18. Location and details can be found by clicking here.


Veggielution has launched a farm box and meal delivery program, Eastside Connect. For more information, email info@veggielution.org or visit www.veggielution.org.

  • Farm Boxes:  Provides fresh produce to our community’s most food-insecure program participants via a weekly home delivery. 

  • Hot Meal Delivery: With the help of our Eastside Grown program graduates, hot meals will be prepared and delivered to the most isolated residents of eastern San Jose.

La Escuela de Artes y Cultura de la Plaza de Herencia Mexicana -- La Plaza -- está aquí para ofrecer cualquier ayuda que podamos. Junto con otras agencias locales, estamos trabajando en formas de vivir nuestra visión donde la creatividad inspira compasión y comunidades vibrantes. El equipo de La Plaza -su Plaza - está buscando formas de apoyar a nuestro vecindario y comunidad creativa. Como tal, hemos creado una lista de los recursos y servicios de nuestros socios para ayudarlo a superar estos tiempos difíciles.

RECURSOS DE COMIDA

El Distrito Escolar Unido Alum Rock continuará proporcionando desayuno y almuerzo gratuitos para niños menores de 18 años. La ubicación y los detalles se pueden encontrar haciendo clic aquí.

Veggielution ha lanzado un programa de entrega de cajas y comidas agrícolas, Eastside Connect. Para más información, envíe un correo electrónico a info@veggielution.org.
